Membership of ISSMGE
Any Member of SLGS shall be eligible for designation as an Individual Member of ISSMGE provided that;
- The member shall possess a Bachelors Degree or a Higher Degree with Soil Mechanics & Geotechnical Engineering as subjects followed in the relevant course,
AND
- The member shall have a minimum of three years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering in the industry or in academic field as
- A practicing geotechnical engineer or
- An instructor, a trainer, a researcher or a lecturer
AND
- In the opinion of a Panel of Senior Geotechnical Engineers appointed by the Executive Committee of the SLGS, if the applicant has contributed to the advancement of knowledge in the field of geotechnical engineering and its applications, by way of
- Publishing locally or internationally valuable papers, technical notes on geotechnical engineering
- Making discoveries, innovations that contribute to geotechnical engineering applications.
- Exceptional achievements in geotechnical engineering recognized by SLGS/ISSMGE.
Annual Membership Fee of ISSMGE
The designated Individual Members of ISSMGE shall pay an Annual Membership Fee to SLGS by the end of each year.
The name of a member shall be removed from the list of Individual Members of ISSMGE if he/she has not paid his/her annual membership fees for a period of more than two years or when the member’s name is removed from the SLGS membership, upon giving due notice to the member by the Honorary Secretary-SLGS.
Any member so removed may make a fresh application if he/she satisfies the eligibility conditions as per Article/clause.
