SLGS ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON “GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING CHALLENGES IN EXPRESSWAY CONSTRUCTIONS” – 2024

Since its inception in 1986, the Sri Lankan Geotechnical Society (SLGS) has consistently organized workshops, seminars, and conferences to meet the industry’s needs and advance the knowledge of the geotechnical
engineering community. In recent decades, several expressway projects have been successfully completed in Sri Lanka and India, with many more either planned or underway. These projects have presented significant geotechnical engineering challenges, and innovative solutions have been developed to address them. The insights and experiences gained from these projects will be invaluable for future expressway and infrastructure developments.
In light of this, the SLGS Executive Committee has decided to hold its 2024 Annual Conference on the theme “Geotechnical Engineering Challenges in Expressway Construction.” The Conference aims to share valuable
knowledge with engineers involved in similar projects, both within Sri Lanka and across the broader regional geotechnical community.
